Breast Ultrasound in Seoul for Foreigners
Breast ultrasound is widely used in Korea, partly because many women have dense breast tissue. It is painless, radiation-free and can be done in a short appointment.
Breast ultrasound uses sound waves to look at breast tissue and is especially helpful for dense breasts or to check a lump. It complements, rather than replaces, mammography. You can book it alone or as part of a women's health checkup.
Ultrasound vs. Mammography
| Breast ultrasound | Mammography | |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Sound waves | Low-dose X-ray |
| Comfort | Painless | Compression can be uncomfortable |
| Strength | Dense tissue, distinguishing cysts from solid lumps | Detecting micro-calcifications |
